November Review

2 weeks ago By Dave Morley

Three teams unbeaten during the month and a relegation confirmed

November saw The veterans, Reserves and under 18's unbeaten, but unfortunately, the under 12's got relegated to YEL Spring division 2.

First team

The firsts only played two matches this month, but will want to forget them quickly. First came a 9-0 away defeat to last seasons' champions, Long Eaton TNI. This was followed two weeks later by a 5-2 away defeat to local rivals, Cat & Fiddle. Matthew Vincent and Kieran Saxton the only scorers for the month.

First team record for November is

P2 W0 D0 L2 GF2 GA14 Pts0 - Top scorer for the month is shared between Matt Vincent and Kieran Saxton.

Reserves

The reserves came back from the disappointment of losing two matches in October with a vengeance. The first victims were Railway Rovers. Four for Mason Proctor-Smith, a Chris Johnson hat trick, two for Antony Ridgway, and one each for Simon Chambers, Jason Bowler, Josh Proctor-Smith and Billy Peacock gave Kirk Hallam a ridiculous 13-0 victory. Next came the Sportsman. Two goals from Simon Chambers won it at 2-0. Finally, in a cup match against Alvaston United from division 2, a penalty save from Rory Shotton gave him three clean sheets for the month as Chris Johnson and Mason Proctor-Smith smashed a goal each in at the other end. A stunning month for the guys, scoring 17 and not conceding any goals.

Reserves record for November is

P3 W3 D0 L0 GF17 GA0 Pts9 - Top scorer for the month is Mason Proctor Smith with 5.

Veterans

The veterans continued their 100% record for the season with wins against Beeston Old Boys and Crown Inn Beeston. Firstly, goals from Craig Poole, Steve Gomm and Vaughn Hallsworth giving them a 3-1 victory over Beeston Old Boys, followed by two Nick Ghislanzoni goals for 2-1 against Crown Inn Beeston. A cup match against champions of the Premier Division Basford United was abandoned by the referee on 22 minutes.

First team record for November is

P2 W2 D0 L0 GF5 GA2 Pts6 - Top scorer for the month is Nick Ghislanzoni with 2.

Under 18's

The under 18's carried on their fine form and went unbeaten for the month. First, they hosted Ripley Town. Goals from Ian Bailey and Jake West secured them a 2-2 draw. Next came an away trip to local rivals Eastwood town. Goals from Charlie Roach and Brad Mitchell giving them the same result as the previous week. Top of the league Market Warsop Warriors then came to town. A great home performance by the boys and goals from Daniel Lockhart, Brad Mitchell and Charlie Roach saw a 3-3 draw. After three draws, the lads ended the month on a high with a 5-2 away win against Netherfield. Goals from Daniel Lockhart, Jake West, Regan Atkinson, Seth Davies and Charlie Roach doing the damage. Great month for the boys.

U18's record for November is

P4 W1 D3 L0 GF12 G9 Pts6 - Top scorer for the month is Charlie Roach with 3.

Under 12's

A hugely disappointing month for the under 12's saw them relegated from the YEL winter division 1. With the task of winning two out of the final three matches, the pressure was on from the start. A terrible home match against Gonerby, in which neither team deserved to score, let alone win saw Noah Bagley score in a 2-1 defeat. The task was now huge against second placed Burton Joyce Blue. Ben Morley scored in a 4-1 defeat which saw the team almost definitely relegated. A final home match against bottom of the league Keyworth gave the lads hope. A game ruined by a disaster of a referee saw the lads collapse after being at 1-1 at half time saw relegation confirmed as they went down 5-1 with a single goal from Ben Morley and a disallowed goal at 1-1. The month finished with a home friendly against division 3 Mickleover Sports Celta. The game gave trailists Logan O'Connor and Josh Perkins a chance of a steady game with the boys. Two from Ben Morley, and a goal each for Finn Rydzyk, Harris Khan and Josh Perkins gave them a 5-2 win, which could really have been a lot more. Incidentally, Josh looked like he'd played for the team for years. Great player
