Once in a lifetime opportunity for the team

We regretfully announce the departure of the AFC Kirk Hallam veterans from the club.

The team have been given the opportunity to move on to be a part of Ilkeston Town FC and play their home matches on the New Manor Ground while still playing in the top division of the East Midlands Veterans League.

After being just an idea, to a fully formed team and entered into the league in a matter of days in 2017, the boys lost just twice in two years. In 2017-2018, the team won the EMFL Conference West league and cup double, including a stunning 10-1 win in the final of the Keith Radford Trophy. This was followed by a league championship of the Championship West in 2018-2019, losing just once, and then a cup defeat to Basford United from the top division.

This stunning progress has been proof that the team was formed with some of the best Sunday league footballers that Ilkeston has ever seen.

We wish them luck in their next steps and thank them for representing the club brilliantly on the pitch for two seasons. They've been given a chance that cannot be refused and we wish them well.
